We can all agree that food is important. It sustains us, comforts us, brings us together, accompanies major life events. And like most communities, the Golden Isles has numerous options to meet most cravings. So while you can find an expansive list of restaurants online or on various apps, we'd like to share with you our particular favorites. Bon Appétit!

Jessica is an excellent cook and can cook anything from Persian food to Italian food, and some traditional good ol’ Southern dishes. She prefers home cooking to dining out… But when the occasion calls for a little dining out, she and her family enjoy:

5 de Mayo Mexican Grill
2809 Glynn Ave Brunswick Georgia 31520 | 912.289.9288

Jessica says: “I really enjoy the carne asada taco plate with beans and rice. Being from California, I have always enjoyed authentic Mexican food and they really hit that craving when I do not feel like cooking it myself.”
Jessica’s advice: “I have never had a bad experience here, we are always seated immediately and treated wonderfully. Try the Tamales.”

The Farmer and the Larder
1523 Newcastle St, Brunswick, GA 31520 | 912.342.7700

Jessica recommends: “I love that they are sourcing their produce locally, and the menu varies. I really enjoyed the Chipped beef and the new take on the bisquits and gravy!”
Jessica’s advice: “The hours vary so always check first, as well as the menu, definitely a place for people who enjoy different choices”

Millhouse Steakhouse
124 Glynco Pkwy Brunswick, GA 31525 | 912. 264.3424

Jessica recommends: “The Gorgonzola Sirloin with Steamed Broccoli, I always order the appetizer version, however, there is a dinner version available. The wedge salad is also delicious.”
Jessica’s advice: “Always ask for Jason Miller or Jackie for your server, they make the experience. Also dinner hour seems to get pretty busy, so sometimes there is a wait, but there is a bar and outside lounge.”

Sandcastle Cafe
117 Mallery Street • SSI, GA | 912.638.8883

Jessica’s favorite here is: “I absolutely love the “OY VAY,” a toasted bagel, with lox, cream cheese, tomatoes, purple onions and capers”
Jessica’s tip: “They are only open until 2pm. Also, the fruit tray with the muffin is excellent for sharing before breakfast!”
